Flamework Glass with Tanner Sweeney

In this beginner friendly workshop we’ll cover basic manipulation of solid borosilicate glass using an oxygen/propane-powered burner. Students will be taught how to form and design multiple pieces and have a great time exploring this exciting medium. Learning to manipulate the molten glass and how to use all the tools and techniques of this art form. This workshop is designed for participants 18 and up.

Tanner Sweeney founded DeepCreek GlassWorx in 2013 with a torch in hand and a head full of ideas. Named after the area he grew up in in Pennsylvania, the name is a nod to his roots and the path that sparked his love for molten glass. Tanner’s talent has grown as he has continued to shape, spin, and sweat over each piece – one flame at a time. Tanner has taught a handful of people who have gone on to have successful glass careers of their own in the greater Philadelphia area, occasionally collaborating with other artists as well to create unique art pieces.
