Tyler Park Center for the Arts Scholarship
The purpose of the Tyler Park Center for the Arts Scholarship is to provide college scholarship awards to encourage and support art education for Bucks County graduating high school seniors pursuing studies or enrolling in a 2D and 3D Fine Arts and Crafts degree program.
Awards
Four (4) $2,500 undergraduate scholarship awards are available each year. Awards are for one year only. All scholarship awards will be paid directly to the recipients.1
Eligibility
– Applicants must be graduating seniors of a Bucks County, PA high school at the time the award is received.
– Applicants must be pursuing studies or enrolling in a 2D and 3D Fine Arts and Crafts degree program (excluding Performing Arts).
– Applicants must have a Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
Selection Criteria
– Demonstrated interest in 2D and 3D Fine Arts and Crafts.
– Strength of submitted art samples.
– Quality of written statement.
– Financial need.
– Minimum GPA 3.0.
Application Requirements
Online Application Deadline is April 1, 2025. Scholarship awards will be announced no later than May 15, 2025.
The application must include all the following components prior to submitting. We recommend that you do not start filling out the application until you have all of these components completed and ready for attachment.
1) Completed application form. Only completed application forms will be considered.
2) A one-page (< 600 words) written statement. Please include the applicant’s name at the top of the page. Respond to at least two of the following questions in your written statement.
– How has art played a role in your life to date?
– How do you see a higher education art degree helping you in the future?
– What inspires you to create art?
– Is a viewer’s interpretation of a work of art as valid as the artist’s interpretation?
3) At least one letter of recommendation and no more than 2 letters of recommendation from a teacher, mentor or school official. We recommend the letter writers be personally familiar with the applicant’s accomplishments, performance, skills, character, and/or experience.
4) An official high school transcript including GPA.
5) Samples of art – upload high quality photograph(s) with a description and/or artist statement explaining your work (3 samples created in the last 2 years).
