A Different Approach to Painting the Landscape – Impressionistic Style with Renee Egan
Students will learn to paint impressionistically by using a color theory approach and by experimenting with color values and temperatures. We will be layering and mixing different paint colors using a palette knife. Different tools and applications will be taught as well to promote intuitive and creative textures and movements in their painting. Applying paint will be used in a whole new way some examples are rolling color on, and scraping off layers. Each student will use their own landscape references that they will bring printed out in both color and in black and white. We will be using water-soluble oil paints. Supplies will be provided for a material fee of $40.00 due on the first class.
Please bring a printed-out references of several fall landscapes you want to paint in color and in Black and white.

Paint the season your way. Create custom watercolor or gouache holiday cards, or a small canvas cozy winter landscape with expert guidance on nailing that perfect snow scene. Materials and reference photos provided — just show up and create.

About the Artist
Renee Pelletier Egan is a seasoned Bucks County artist and teacher who has dedicated 20 years to teaching adolescent students drawing and painting techniques and principles.
Renee attended several art schools and studied at the New York School of Visual Arts, Paier School of Art, and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She received her educational teaching degree from The College of New Jersey and has taught art in several public high schools in New Jersey.
Renee is involved in several community art groups and showcases her work at various juried art shows, including the Ellarslie Open, Phillips’ Mill Art Show, and Artists of Yardley.
