Precious Metal Clay – Saturday April 7th
Monique is a traditional metalsmith, metal clay artist, and an enamellist. She uses sterling silver, fine silver, precious metal clay, semi-precious gemstones, enamels, and 22 and 24kt gold accents in her work. She creates unique one of a kind wearable works of art by combining a variety of techniques from the three disciplines.
Monique holds several certifications in precious metal clay, is a juried member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and the Bucks County Guild of Craftsmen. She is a member of the PA Society of Goldsmiths, and the Greater Philadelphia Metal Clay Guild. Monique’s work has been published multiple times in Handmade Business magazine, Art Jewelry Magazine, and her work was featured on the cover and in a feature article of Sunshine Artist Magazine in 2016.
Precious Metal Clay – Creating and exploring textures April 7th (9:30 – 4pm)
Come learn how to make beautiful fine silver jewelry using Precious Metal Clay. In this one day workshop, students will create their own unique patterns to use in texturing their metal clay design. Using sheets of scratch foam and ball stylus tools, they will sketch/draw deep impressions in the foam, which will be used to create a wonderful relief in the metal clay. Students may create a pendant, and/or earrings. Other texturing methods will be reviewed and discussed. All pieces will be completed in class including firing, burnishing, adding patina, and polishing. Students will leave with a finished piece they can be proud to wear! Beginners are welcome! Limit 8 people (ages 18+) Students should bring a brown bag lunch, wear closed toe shoes please.
$140 beginners + Materials fee $50 for metal clay payable to instructor at class – includes one 16gram pack of PMC3, scratch foam, use of instructors tools and equipment.
Enameling on Copper – Pendant & Trinket Dish Upcoming Date to Be Announced
Learn the beauty of enameling (fusing glass to metal) in this beginner level workshop, creating a pendant and small trinket dish. You will fuse multiple layers of enamel on a copper base, and create interest to your design by applying and embedding fine silver foil elements into your pieces. In this one day workshop, you will be using non-leaded transparent and opaque enamels, Copper blanks, and fine silver foils. Leather cords or chains are extra.
Limit 8 people (ages 18+) Students must wear closed toed shoes
