Monique Perry has been creating jewelry for 24 years. A traditional metalsmith, metal clay artist and enamelist, she has worked predominantly with metal clay for the last 9 years and holds two certifications in that medium. She has won several awards for her jewelry at the New Hope Arts and Crafts Festival in 2011 & 2016, along with an award in the “Enamored Challenge” Spring 2012 Metal Clay Today. Her work has been published in Handmade Business, Art Jewelry, Metal Clay Today, Metal Clay Artist, The Art and Design of Metal Clay Jewelry and More, and Grains of Glass just to name a few.
Precious Metal Clay – Creating Jewelry with Accents and Embellishments December 2nd (9:30 – 4pm) SOLD OUT
In this one day workshop, students will create a unique, one of a kind pendant using fine silver metal clay. They will learn how to create and add accents and embellishments adding dimension, details, and interest to their design. Using a combination of cutting tools, craft punches, and metal clay techniques, they will create a pendant that incorporates details such as vines, petals, flowers, leaves, and little silver ball embellishments. Students will leave with a finished piece, all firing and finishing will be done in class. Beginners are welcome. Limit 8 people (ages 18+)
$140 beginners + Materials fee $55 for metal clay payable to instructor at class
Enameling on Copper – Pendant & Trinket Dish Upcoming Date to Be Announced
Learn the beauty of enameling (fusing glass to metal) in this beginner level workshop, creating a pendant and small trinket dish. You will fuse multiple layers of enamel on a copper base, and create interest to your design by applying and embedding fine silver foil elements into your pieces. In this one day workshop, you will be using non-leaded transparent and opaque enamels, Copper blanks, and fine silver foils. Leather cords or chains are extra.
Limit 8 people (ages 18+) Students must wear closed toed shoes
