During these 3 hour workshops, students will create their own silver jewelry. No experience is necessary. (Ages 17+)
Stacking Rings: Learn how to size, fabricate, solder, and finish a complete set of stacking rings! Students will also have the option to bezel set a gemstone for one of their stacking rings and patterned or plain wire will be provided for your band rings. All materials needed to make 3 sterling silver or gold rings depending on the workshop offering.
Bezel Rings: Learn how to fabricate you own bezel settings, size, and form their rings to create a one-of-a-kind piece! All rings will be made out of sterling silver with a custom gallery wire bezel and a unique stone. Students can use metal stamps to decorate the border of their bezel as well! Stone choices will vary. If you’d like to use your own stone, please make sure that they are no larger than 25 mm.
Pendants: Make a beautiful pendant in sterling silver gallery wire. Tips on basic metalsmithing techniques such as soldering, polishing, filing, and bezel setting your stone using the provided gemstone. Students will have the option to include texture and pattern to their pendants with metal stamps. If you’d like to use your own stone, please make sure that they are no larger than 25 mm.
Silver Circle Bracelet: Learn how to design, set, and form a beautiful bracelet out of sterling silver. Students will have an array of semi-precious 6 mm stones to choose from for their bracelets. Tips on soldering, forming, and finishing jewelry will be covered in class. No experience is necessary
$135 + $40 materials fee payable to instructor at the time of class
Jessica Keemer is an award winning studio artist in Lancaster, Pa. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Millersville University and also has a degree in Art Education and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Systems Management. She has studied at the New Approach Jewelers School in Virginia Beach, Va. and at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY.
