Learn the art of flameworking in a variety of workshops with Jessica Keemer. From the time you learn to light the torch and melt the glass, you will be guided through a variety of techniques including how to create your own glass works! 2 glass frit pendant workshops on Sunday, June 14, 2020 Ages 12+ Maximum enrollment limited to 6 students.
Beginner Glass Frit Pendant: CLASS FULL June 14, 2020 (9:00am – 12:00pm) Learn the art of flameworking with frit glass! Students will use crushed up glass and implode these small pieces of glass into clear glass to make frit pendants. Everyone will make approximately 3-5 pendants and string them onto silk for a complete, ready to wear pendant!
Intermediate Glass Flower Pendant: June 14, 2020 (2:00pm to 5:00pm) 3 open spots, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
Build your knowledge of flameworking using color glass rods. Students will create lovely flower pendants creating intricate detail with color glass rods which will be used to create a sequence of dots. Everyone will make approximately 3 pendants and string them onto silk for a complete, ready to wear pendant!
$65 registration fee + $15 materials fee payable to the instructor at time of class
Jessica Keemer is an award winning studio artist in Lancaster, Pa. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Millersville University and also has a degree in Art Education and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Systems Management. She has studied at the New Approach Jewelers School in Virginia Beach, Va. and at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY.
